It is a few years now since Welsh author and academic Jon Gower said "What's a Clough?" to me at the Hay Festival, and so, unwittingly, gave me the title for this book.
"What's a Clough? - Exploring the landscape and language of England" is more or less complete now (Oct 2026) and even has a very nice foreword by the Bard of Barnsley, Ian McMillan.
